About Security at Sanctuary Lakes Resort
Security is provided to Sanctuary Lakes Resort residents 24 hours a day, every day of the year in a coordinated three-part system that consists of:
- Mobile patrols
- Alarm Response
- Residential back-to-base alarm system monitoring by a specialist electronic monitoring system
Primarily the role of Sanctuary Lakes Security is to provide a first response to every alarm that occurs at residents’ properties or community buildings, the result is reported to the monitoring control room and to the security manager or escalated to Victoria Police if required.
Security officers will conduct patrols throughout all areas and observe and report but are not limited to any/all suspicious activity, property damage, illegal dumping of rubbish on vacant blocks or vandalism.
The security vehicles are equipped with first aid response, and we carry a defibrillator, and the team are all trained in first aid.
The security team can be contacted by calling 9394 9477 and selecting Option 1.
A reminder that the speed limit is 50km within the resort except in gated areas it is 20km, speeding is a problem and Victoria Police conduct random patrols within the resort.
It is important to understand that the Security staff do NOT have any extra enforcement powers than anyone of the public and residents are encouraged to report any law-breaking offence directly to Victoria Police by calling 000.
It is common for residents who have complaints that should be directed to Wyndham City Council.

Alarm System
The security service provided for residents is supported by back-to-base monitoring of the alarm system. As per the OC rules, a security system must be installed in every house within Sanctuary Lakes Resort in line with the specifications listed. These alarm systems must conform to the minimum standards set, to ensure we can offer back-to-base monitoring.
As with all systems any faults should be directed to our preferred suppliers for assessment of the problems, there will be a cost involved in engaging technicians:
Security World: 0411 085 123
Advanced living Solutions: 9212 7999
Any commissioning or recommissioning of security systems to connectivity to the back to base monitoring centre will only be performed by our approved suppliers listed above at your expense, if residents engage a third party to install new or upgraded systems then there will be an additional cost to commission your system with our suppliers. Installer and Account Codes are the property of SLRS and will not be given to any third party.
If residents choose to engage one of the approved suppliers listed above, the commissioning can be arranged directly with the contractor. If the resident chooses their own installer they must then engage one of our preferred contractors (listed above) to arrange Alarm Commissioning.
they must contact SLRS on 9394 9400 to arrange Alarm Commissioning.
For commissioning system advice please feel free to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or use the KINDRED application on your mobile phone and lodge a help request.
The Security team can attend your residence and troubleshoot any concern you may have (including flat batteries) but any fault beyond the team’s ability to fix will require you to engage our preferred suppliers at your own expense.
NBN ALARM UPGRADE FOR NBN CONNECTIVITY
NBN Ready Alarm systems are available for installation.
NBN has been rolled out throughout Sanctuary Lakes Resort.
The NBN Rollout will affect your back-to-base monitoring system, and therefore we strongly recommend that you install a PermaConn, which is a device which will continue to work after the 4G system is upgraded to 5G unit before connecting to NBN.
SLR Security recommends installing on of the three Wireless Alarm Monitoring devices:
- PM24 -Single Sim: Alarm communicator using a 4/5G Path (Mobile Data Network) eliminating the need for a fixed phone line. The unit is installed in the alarm panel by our qualified technician and connected to our monitoring centre. No more call charges or future phone line rental fees will be incurred.
- PM24 -Single Sim + APP: Alarm communicator using a 4/5G Path (Mobile Data Network) eliminating the need for a fixed phone line. The unit is installed in the alarm panel by our qualified technician and connected to our monitoring centre. No more call charges or future phone line rental fees will be incurred. There is also an app available (at your cost) which enables the user to arm and disarm and check the status of the alarm system remotely. You will receive a Text with instructions on how to get the App and set up your Phone.
- PM45 – Dual Sim: Alarm communicator with dual Sim 4/5G Path. In addition to the PM24 features this Alarm Communicator has the ability to switch between mobile networks should one fail. There is also an app available (at your cost) which enables the user to arm and disarm and check the status of the alarm system remotely. You will receive a Text with instructions on how to get the App and set up your Phone.
Note - not all alarm systems will be compatible with the PM Monitoring Devices.
The units are independent from any communication services like NBN, internet and landlines. There are no external telephone lines, therefore, the alarm will continue to report during power outages with the alarm backup battery power. The PM24 will report to the control room on a daily basis and the PM45 will report on an hourly basis.
If you would like to schedule installation, please contact one of our preferred suppliers below;

Advanced living Solutions: 9212 7999
Finally, please note that some properties have advised when having NBN connected before installing a PermaConn unit, or before ensuring the Alarm Panel is isolated from the NBN service they have suffered Dialled Failure. As a minimum precaution the Alarm Panel Phone cable should be disconnected from the Phone Jack before installing NBN.
Please note, all commissioning or recommissioning of security systems to connectivity to the back to base monitoring centre will only be performed by our approved suppliers listed above. If residents who engage a third party to install new or upgraded systems, then the resident must contact SLRS on 9394 9400 to arrange Alarm Commissioning.

CRIME STATISTICS
Having SLR Security on site is an extremely valuable resource for all residents, but have you ever wondered how valuable?
According to the latest figures from the Crime Statistics Agency, statistics show that the crime level in Sanctuary Lakes is significantly lower than that of Point Cook, and the wider Wyndham municipality. The crime rate in Sanctuary Lakes is 71% less than Point Cook, and 77% less than throughout Wyndham.
Below is a chart showing the top 4 incident categories in Wyndham, as well as the number of reported incidents.
The top 4 categories are as follows:
* Theft
* Burglary / Break and Enter
* Property Damage
* Assault and Related Offences
As you can see having security onsite doesn't mean no crime, but it definitely does mean low crime. Per every 1000 people 6.2 people in Sanctuary Lakes are affected by crime per annum, compared to 21 people in Point Cook and 28 people in Wyndham per annum.
Keeping our resort safe is a team effort and residents are reminded to lock their homes as well as have compliant alarm systems. Lock vehicles and keep valuables hidden from view and finally, if you see something suspicious or feel that something isn't quite right - report it.
Security can be contacted 24/7 on 9394 9477, but if you believe a crime is in progress please call 000 first.
